Jeff, is there a community college in Elk Grove?  I don't know who else offers a weld tech program, but Sierra College in Rocklin does and the MIG class was like $85 for the semester (probably more now with rates going up etc.) but it certainly helped me get a good idea of what I was doing.

The wife purchased me Hobart 140 Mig  :high5: :high5: apparently I whine to much about not having one. I was able to fix my diff fill plug, my air compressor, and some other crap

I use to oxy and stick weld pretty often back in the merchant marines this however is my first mig. I has issues at first getting a puddle until I figued out that I had the wire speed and amperage cornfuzed. That should but wont teach me not to read the direction and look at the diagrams on the welder

Ive never used a Hobart, But im pretty damn handy with this shiiite. I work down in the EG area. If you have too much trouble PM me I can stop by and pretend I know everything and you can even buy my a beer and we'll get her figured out.

Wow, nice geometry. No bump steer or death wobble with that. HD stuff, I use his parts also. Good fast service too

Wow. We're you having problems with the steering before? That's a pretty drastic solution.

Yeah I had death wobble pretty bad. I masked it with a new steering stabilizer. I bought a Rancho and would just replace it everytime it blew out. I upgraded due to eventually going to 37's and hydro assist.

Drove the CJ to school today. I actually got it up to 60. It hasn't been that fast in about 5 years.

Changed out both rear axle seal, snapped off one of the diff cover bolts, extracted a broken cross pin bolt, discovered that one of the welds on my 8.8 tubes has failed, put on my teraflex oil pan skid, and started my over the tire cooler rack. I also learned that I way prefer mig over flux core!
